Setting: This story takes place in many places like...
1st Setting- Copenhagen, 1943, occupied by Nazi soldiers.
2nd Setting- Gilleje- Uncle Henrik's village, very spread out lots of area.It also has a fishing harbor where you can look over and see Sweden.You need a little more information about this setting, Antonio.
Chapter 1 (1-10): In this chapter Annemarie, Ellen, and Kiristi were running down the street when they got stopped by soldiers, but the soldiers let them off. When Annemarie and Kiristi got home they talked about what happened to Mrs. Johansen and Mrs. Rosen.
Chapter 2 (11-17): In this chapter Annemarie tells Kiristi a bed time story which makes her think of King Christian and her sister Lise.
Chapter 3 (18-26): In this chapter Annemarie finds out that the Germans are closing down stores that are ran by Jewish people. She becomes worried because there are lots of Jewish people in her town and the Rosens are Jewish.
Chapter 4 (27-38): In this chapter Ellen has to stay at the Johansen's house and her parents have to stay at Peter's house because the Nazis are going to arrest all of the Jewish people.
Chapter 5 (39-49):In this chapter Nazis come to the Johansen's house searching for Jewish people when they got tricked by the Johansens into thinking Ellen was Lise.
Chapter 6 (50-59): In this chapter Mrs. Johansen, Annemarie, Kirsti, and Ellen take a train to Annemarie's Uncle's house because they need a new place to hide Ellen from Nazis.
Chapter 7 (60-66): In this chapter Annemarie and Ellen play by the seashore and dip their toes in the water. That night Annemarie usually hears laughter, but that night it was silent.
Chapter 8 (67-73): In this chapter Kirsti names the cat Thor and Uncle Henrik tells everyone that Great-aunt Birte has died. Annemarie is positive that she doesn't exist.
Chapter 9 (74-81): In this chapter Annemarie and Uncle Henrik talk about bravery and mourners come for Great-aunt Birte's fake death.
Chapter 10 (82-87): In this chapter a soldier comes and questions them why are they all gathered and Peter sings a psalm to everyone.
Chapter 11 (88-94): In this chapter Peter takes all the "mourners" Jewish people to the boats so they can sail to Sweden and the Johansens are supposed to take the Rosens to somewhere safe. In the coffin there were jackets, sweaters, and a folder that Peter gave to Mr. Rosen. Good Job, Antonio
Chapter 12 (95-100): In this chapter Mrs. Johansen brought the Rosens to the boats and when they were going to the boats Mr. Rosen dropped the folder without knowing. When Mrs. Johansen was on her way home she broke her ankle.
Chapter 13 (101-105): In this chapter Annemarie finds the folder and her mother tells her to put it in a basket and quickly run over to the boat docks and give it to Mr. Rosen.
Chapter 14 (106-112): In this chapter Annemarie was running on the path to the docks when she started to think of Little Red Riding-Hood and when she would tell Kirsti the story at night. When she was near the end of the path she saw soldiers with dogs.
Chapter 15 (113-119): In this chapter Annemarie gets stopped by soldiers and they ask what is in the basket. They look in the basket and find the folder with the handkerchief. Then Annemarie gave the handkerchief to Uncle Henrik.
Chapter 16 (120-127): In this chapter Annemarie goes with Uncle Henrik to have cow milking lessons and Uncle Henrik tells Annemarie that the handkerchief made the dogs loose their sense of smell and he said that the Rosens were safe.
Chapter 17 (128-132): In this chapter the Johansens find out that the war is over and they find out that Peter was shot and killed. Mr. and Mrs. Johansen tell Annemarie that Lise was part of the Resistance and got run down by the Nazis.
Afterward (133-137): In this the Author tells how they got the information from the story and they talk about King Christian X and how he rode through the town of Copenhagen. The handkerchief and how it was made of cocaine and rabbit blood, plus she said that it made the dogs loose their sense of smell. And She added a few more information about the war.
Plot... Initating Incident: Annemarie finds out that all the Jewish people are going to be taken away.

Rising Action: The Johansens and Ellen drive to their Uncle Henrik's house to try and keep Ellen more safe by putting her on a boat to Sweden. It is just Mama and they take the train!
Climax: The Rosens and other Jewish people go to the boat docks and sail to Sweden because Nazis aren't in Sweden. This the resolution. The climax comes for Annemarie when she meets the soldiers and has to keep her wits about her and make them believe she is just a silly girl delivering lunch to her uncle.
Falling Action: The war is over and all the Jewish people can come back like the Rosens.

Kirsti Johansen: Kirsti is five years old and the younger sister of Annemarie. Kirsti is very headstrong and she always tries to always get her way like when she was having a fuss about her shoes. The Rosens then dyed her shoes black. Kirsti also always wants to be like the older kids.
Annemarie Johansen: Annemarie is ten years old and the older sister of Kirsti. She is Ellen's bestfriend. Annemarie is very brave and she is couagous like when her mother asked her to run over the handkerchief to the dock she did. Annemarie is also very fast at running.
